18 OCT 2017 Table Tennis Match Report
Another good week of table tennis club with competitive fixtures now becoming a… fixture.
Special mention to Dani who ran away with 8 victories and Rebecca with 5 victories. Both Rebecca and Kisako have made excellent progress since the first club meeting but it should be said that all members played well today also.
Well done to all.
16 OCT 2017 Junior 1 Gaudi Gate Trip
The children in J1 have been learning about our city Barcelona and especially about the life and beautiful buildings made by the architect Antoni Gaudi.
They visited the Guell Pavillions which was Gaudi’s first piece of work in Barcelona. They saw the spectacular Dragon gate and listened attentively to the story about Ladon the dragon, the garden of Hesperides, Hercules and the golden apples!
They even tried very hard to sketch the gate. When we went inside, David our guide, told us all about Count Guell and his summer house, the stables for his 14 horses and the training ring.
We walked around the garden and saw the horses water trough and an old crane for lifting the stones used to make La Pedrera (Casa Mila).
We even looked for fairies! We had a great trip!

04 OCT 2017 Table Tennis Match Report
This week saw the return of the school’s extra-curricular activities and with it, table tennis club.
It was very pleasing to see a returning cadre of club veterans (Dani, Leo, Arkin, Marco and Marat) together with a host of new additions (David, Rebecca, Elsa and Kisako).
We started with a quick tutorial for the beginners but quickly got into competitive play. As always, the atmosphere was friendly but fiendishly tense and the beginners really showed that we are in for a good year with some very good matches.
Well done everybody, see you next week!
